Tori has a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences.  Her expertise includes the synthesis and characterization of nuclear materials, actinide chemistry, and aqueous environmental chemistry.  She also holds appointments as a Professor in the University of Iowa Department of Chemistry and an Adjunct Professor in the University of Iowa Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
