The CE440 combustion CHN analyzer is manufactured by Exeter Analytical . This instrument gives elemental composition of carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and nitrogen (N) on solid state samples to within 0.20% by mass. While this technique is destructive, it uses <3 mg of material per sample. The system can also be configured to measure sulfur (S) content as well.
