Bambu Lab X1E 3D Printer
Bambu Lab X1E 3D Printer
The Bambu Lab X1E is a high-performance 3D printer available in the MATFab facility. With a build volume of 256 × 256 × 256 mm, the X1E offers high-speed, high-precision printing using engineering-grade materials, including carbon fiber–reinforced composites, nylon, PETG, TPU, and more.
Equipped with a hardened-steel nozzle, enclosed heated chamber, and all-metal hotend (up to 320 °C), the X1E excels at producing functional parts for prototyping and testing. AI-driven features like first-layer inspection, print failure detection, and automatic calibration ensure consistent results with minimal user intervention. The system supports multi-material and multi-color printing through Bambu’s AMS technology, while integrated HEPA filtration and enterprise networking (including Ethernet, WPA2-Enterprise, and offline modes) make it ideal for secure and VOC-sensitive lab environments.
Perfect for rapid prototyping, materials testing, and functional part production, the X1E brings industrial-grade capabilities to the MATFab facility. For details on available materials, print sizes, or to get started on submitting a print request, please reach out to Christian O’Brien or Michael Sinnwell directly or email matfab-staff@uiowa.edu.
